Rene Marie Russo, an American actor and film maker who was a former supermodel is now a film director. Known for her elegant beauty her endurance in the intense film industry is a reflection of her skills and talent as an actress. She began her career as a model in the 1970s before becoming one of the top models. She took classes in acting and theater from the beginning of the decade. She later appeared on stage in Los Angeles, and other areas of California. Russo made her screen debut on ABCs drama show Sable in 1987 as the role of Eden Kendell. Her first movie Major League two years after she portrayed Tom Berengers romantic interest. The consistency of her performance won the attention of critics who were uneasy about her acting skills. She was praised for her role on Wolfgang Petersen's Outbreak in which she competed against Dustin Hoffman and Morgan Freeman. However by her own admission she has never been passionate in acting. After a prolonged break which she self-imposed on herself to act in 2005. For the film Thor it was her return to acting. The actress also appeared in her husband's Oscar winning film Nightcrawler. Rose Namajunas has been one of UFC's most prominent female athletes. She started her career in amateur fighting, performing in regional events before joining Invicta Fighting Championships and later becoming a member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). The fighter has achieved a significant amount of attention since joining the UFC due to both her on and off the octagon's success. Namajunas, a Lithuanian-immigrant, was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on June 29, 1992. Rose was a basketball player and kickboxing as she grew into a young woman. Rose made her debut as a professional fighter at just 18 for Invicta Fighting Championships at which she took home two matches by submission. It caught the attention of Dana White who signed her to be a part of the UFC Strawweight in December of 2014 when she was only 22. Rose is a fighter who has seen highs and lows in her career but she always comes out triumphant. Rose was a fighter against Carla Esparza in April 2015 to win the Women's Strawweight Champion. Rose won the bout through a technical knockout, which occurred within three minutes after the start of the round. It was the first ever women to compete against a title champion in any major promotion worldwide. Following this victory Namajunas had a string of more successful fights including defeating Joanna Jedrzejczyk twice which earned her Performance Of The Night honors from UFC following these victories .
